Memorial at Willamette National Cemetery, September 11, 2002. I was so overwhelmed as the first anniversary of 9/11 approached. Settled in a new city, I did not have my tribe near me, so I went to every observance in the city I could find and photographed it. My day started here at dawn. I was honored when this image was featured on the American Society of Media Photographers’ home page along side one by Jay Maisel.
